Bobcat TL358+ Telehandler

For all those who are looking for compact, manoeuvrable and easy to maintain telescopic handlers, Bobcat introduced new range of telehandlers at Intermat this year… that should meet all of these criteria. MachineryZone went to meet Bobcat team on the stand. Here is a glimpse of the TL358 and TL358+!

The two new telescopic handlers are designed for use on construction sites and thereby especially suitable for intensive use as rental equipment. Moreover, Bobcat also offers the TL358 + Agri model, which is specially equipped for the needs of agricultural applications and was already presented at SIMA last February.

The TL358 and TL358+ both have a maximum lift height of 5.80 meters with 20-inch tires. For more traction, however, the loader can be equipped with 24-inch tires. The lifting capacity of the TL358 is at 2600 kg and the TL358 + at 3000 kg. This is such an impressive capacity for compact machines: both frame width and height are just 2.1 m, maximum length is 4.5 m and turning radius is 3.77 m. The height of the cabin can be adapted according to the needs since it can be mounted in two ways: in a low position with a very low overall height of 2.1 m or in an elevated position for greater view.

Besides compactness, Bobcat also places emphasis on the robustness of its machines. The two new telescopic handlers are protected all around by a box-welded frame and can therefore be used safely on construction sites and in rough terrain conditions. Critical components are also protected from damage by a shielded bottom plate along the entire length.  The boom is manufactured with high tensile steel and very solid head, so that heavy loads can be lifted easily.

As for the engine, Bobcat opts for the Stage IIIB compliant Deutz TCD 3.6 L4 diesel engine providing 74.4 kW (100 HP) of power at 2300 rpm. With this engine, the new telehandlers are equipped with the new ECO mode which allows maintaining optimum hydraulic performance while the engine output is reduced. This is possible by adjusting the main machines features to create a balance between top performance and optimal performance/fuel consumption ratio.

The panoramic cabin is equipped with several new features and systems to improve ease of use. Thus, the operator can easily adjust the speed of boom movement depending on the type of work to do with the Smart Handling System SHS button.  And the Fast Connect system (FCS) feature makes it possible to switch very quickly and easily between hydraulic attachments via an integrated pressure-release system.

To meet the different operators’ preferences, the telescopic handlers can be optionally equipped with the dual FNR function. Thanks to this feature, the driver can carry out the forward / reverse control either via a joystick or via a lever on the steering wheel.

With their compact size and versatility, the new TL358 and TL358 + models are a good complement to the already available Bobcat TL360 TL470 telehandlers.
